Credentials of Dr. von Hildebrand:

Born Alice Jourdain, Brussels, Belgium, Dr. von Hildebrand is a world renowned Catholic philosopher and theologian and a former professor. She came to the U.S. in 1940 and began teaching at Hunter College in New York City in 1947. She was married to the famous philosopher and theologian Dietrich von Hildebrand (1889-1977), meeting him at Fordham University in New York where she was a student and he was a professor. She remained married to him until his death. She retired in 1984. Alice von Hildebrand lives in the United States and is a lecturer and an author, whose works include: The Privilege of Being a Woman (2002) and The Soul of a Lion: The Life of Dietrich von Hildebrand (2000), a biography of her late husband. She also hosted a Series on Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) often running a Series with Fr. Benedict Groeschel and others.

Some of the great churchmen of the twentieth century have held Dietrich von Hildebrand in high regard. Pope Pius XII called Dietrich von Hildebrand a "twentieth century Doctor of the Church," but equally impressive are the words of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who wrote of von Hildebrand: "I am personally convinced that, when, at some time in the future, the intellectual history of the Catholic Church in the twentieth century is written, the name of Dietrich von Hildebrand will be most prominent among the figures of our time."

I wish to apply these words to Pius X's magnificent Encyclical Pascendi Dominici Gregis. Written l02 years ago, it is not only "new and fresh", but gives us a message whose importance and urgency increased since it was written. We are very indebted to Mr. LeBlanc for having made it accesible to a large public. Papal Encyclicals are not always easy reading. While totally faithful to its message, he made it a must reading for every Catholic who realizes how his faith is threatened by the cancer of modernism. "Tolle, lege (Take it and read)" (St. Augustine's Confessions, VIII )

About the book:

On September 8, 1907, Pope St. Pius X issued the Encyclical "Pascendi Dominici Gregis" (Feeding the Lord's Flock) in which he condemned Modernism in all of its forms. He called it, "the synthesis of all heresies".

He wrote this Encyclical to protect the Catholic Church from the insidious influences and attacks that came from Atheism, Agnosticism, Protestantism, Humanism, Secularism, Existentialism, and all the "isms" that would undermine Divine Revelation. It was also a response to the work of the Masonic movement.

The Holy Father brought to bear the full power of the Papacy against anyone who would advocate or embrace Modernism. And he made it crystal clear the only way to deal with Modernists was to have them rooted out of the Church. They were to be suppressed in every way possible and at every level because he knew they corrupted anything they touched.

This brings us to the question, "What is Modernism?"

It refers to the notion that a "fully modern man" has been forever changed by science so that he will now accept "only" what he can observe by way of experiment through the scientific method (Empirical evidence). He must not put faith in anything outside of measurable phenomena, and this means the Modern man must no longer look at life and religion like "the Men of Old".

As a result of this attitude, the modern man has lost his vision on many levels, and fails to see what scholastic philosophy reveals about the errors found in his thinking. This is why Modernists shun scholastic philosophers and seek out philosophers who believe all the doctrines and dogmas of the Church are to be "harmonized" with science, and in turn, they use the scientific method to judge history itself. They make science the absolute standard as they go about telling us all the historical claims of the miraculous and the divine cannot be proven by the scientific method. They conclude, therefore, all that is associated with the miraculous and the divine must be removed from Scripture.

Pascendi Dominici Gregis did in fact hinder the progress of the Modernists for a time, but they pressed forward and ravaged educational systems with the poison of Modernism. As a result, Catholics in our day are not as well equipped to receive and understand the importance of "Pascendi" as those in former days.

This brings us to "Feeding the Lord's Flock by Roger LeBlanc". It is to be seen as a "servant" of "Pascendi Dominici Gregis". Using a style of language more readily understood by Catholics in our day, it was written to help Catholics understand the great dangers which Pope St. Pius X warned us about. But it still requires that you put on a thinking cap. It follows paragraph by paragraph the identical layout of "Pascendi Dominici Gregis", and it remains completely faithful to the theological and philosophical conclusions and mandates given to us by Pope St. Pius X.

This Series of Trials takes place in a Court of Law where representatives for Protestantism will defend the claim that the "Bible Alone" is the "sole authority" in Christianity. And they will battle it out with representatives of the "Catholic Church" who will demonstrate that ultimate moral and religious authority is found only in the Catholic Church. These trials will cover a wide range of subjects, and each side must prove their case using only Scripture and very limited historical evidence. Some readers will be surprised to find that Secularists, Pagans, and others will join with Protestants to form an alliance against the Church, so what is at stake in this Series of Trials is nothing short of sensational!

In fact, these trials will challenge readers whose religious conviction is built upon error and ego, but the humble of heart will be liberated from error if they find they have been wrong. For others, this Series will confirm and deepen the Catholic faith they already cherish.

In the first trial, Catholic representatives must prove that Jesus Christ established only the Catholic Church. They must prove that the visible and spiritual community, formally established and organized in this world as a society by Jesus Christ Himself, subsists fully in the Catholic Church alone, and that it is governed by the Successor of St. Peter and those Bishops in communion with him. They have never really been forced to account for all the division within their own ranks to this very day. And why is this the case? Because Protestants have been very effective in keeping the spotlight off themselves by rebelling with one voice against the authority of the Catholic Magisterium. But all of that is about to end.

As you go through this series of trials you will find yourself living vicariously through someone in the courtroom. At times you may see yourself on the witness stand, and at other times you may see yourself as one of the attorneys, or one of the jurors. But one way or the other, your religious convictions will be indelibly affected by the facts that will be presented in these trials.

This trial takes place in an International Court where Catholic representatives must demonstrate that Jesus Christ is truly present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity under the "accidental appearances" of bread and wine. And they must do so using only Scripture and very restricted historical evidence.

Now, more than ever, a trial concerning the Mass is critical to determine whether it will be Protestants or Catholics who must die to the ego in order to do the will of Jesus Christ. And a recent statement from Pope Benedict XVI made clear that Protestant communities cannot lay claim to the title of "Church" because they lack what the Catholic Church considers "essential to be a Church". This has raised the ire of Protestants around the world because nothing is more lacking to them than the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

This trial will deal primarily with one issue. It will be a battle over whether or not Jesus literally meant it when He said,

"Take and eat, this is My Body which is given up for you", and in like manner, the cup, take and drink, "This is the Cup of the New and Everlasting Covenant in My Blood that will be shed for you and for many that sins may be forgiven. Do this in Memory of me"
.

Once the facts are presented, several other issues that swirl around the words of "Consecration" will be drawn into the vortex of what is at stake, and what is at stake in this trial is nothing short of sensational.

If Protestants are proven wrong it would mean they must embrace the Catholic Mass which they find repugnant for many reasons. And worst of all, they would not be able to hide the shame of having lived in open rebellion against the most Sacred Reality in existence, and the entire world would know about it. It would mean that Protestants could no longer go about referring to the Mass as "Hocus Pocus Dominocus", the greatest magic trick of them all.

It's a bold question but it must be asked because many believe it to be true. Is the "Catholic Image of Mary" a true representation of Mary? Or, is she actually a "Pagan Goddess" that was taken captive by the Catholic Church and "reconstructed" in order to oppress women?

Feminists, Protestants, and Pagans did not expect to come together to form an alliance against the very person of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but facts will speak for themselves. And given the level of tension in the Catholic Church over feminists' demands that the Church "ordain women", this trial will bring out what has been hidden in the feminists agenda for years, namely, a deep association with paganism.

And there should be no surprise to discover how important it was for feminists to strike first at marriage and the "evil nature of men" before they could attack Churchmen. But, perhaps most shocking is the ultimate reason that feminists attack Marian doctrine! Do they go beyond their demands of sexual license and independence? Does it all come down to a satanic attack on the Divinity of Jesus Christ and the inner life of the Most Holy Trinity?

The impact of this trial is far reaching, and it is impossible that it will proceed without great contention. But it will become unmistakably clear that the Dogmas of the "Immaculate Conception" and the "Perpetual Virginity of Mary" are seen by feminists as a form of rape by the "Patriarchy in Rome" and an obstacle to their sexual demands. And we will see if Mary's "heterosexual virginity" is a fortress which stands against their ultimate demand that lesbian and homosexual lifestyles be validated by the Church.

In addition, there are many who felt the Church had abandoned its mission to convert all men and women to the Church since the days of Vatican II, but Pope Benedict XVI made it clear these people were mistaken in his recent "Clarification Note" on the "ecumenical mission of the Church". This clarification was like a shock-wave that went out from the epicenter in Rome to the world of Protestantism and non-Christian religions. And now, feminists and Protestants have threatened the "ecumenical position of the Church". They tell us that any future Marian dogmas will be the global death nail of ecumenism and the destruction of 40 years of "progress" since Vatican II. The mere thought that a Pope would actually consider pronouncing Mary to be the "Co-Redemptrix, Co-Mediatrix, and Advocate" of mankind as Dogma sends a chill down their spine.

Perhaps the best visual to depict the battle between the Church and the alliance (Protestants, feminists, and pagans) is to consider the difference between the "Ark of the New Covenant" and the "Ark of the Coven".

Those who reject the Divinity of Jesus Christ are quick to tell us that Jesus never actually said "I AM GOD".
If He did not make this claim, would it mean that He is not the Lord God Almighty?

What if Scripture itself says that Jesus is God? What if His divinity is demonstrable through Old Testament prophecy that has been fulfilled and confirmed in the New Testament?

Jesus turned that charge around on them and said, "Behold, the Kingdom of God is upon you". (Matthew 12:28)

This trial will speak to any individual, and to all religions that do not accept the Divinity of Jesus Christ.

Does Scripture support belief in the doctrine of the Trinity, or does such a belief turn people away from the One true God?

Christian doctrine in its totality is rooted in Trinitarian doctrine which teaches that in the One God there is an unbroken unity of essence shared by 3 distinct Persons. These 3 Persons have existed from all eternity in the Godhead, but they are not 3 distinct Gods. The false belief that the 3 distinct Persons in God are 3 distinct gods is "Tri-theism" and this is actually "Polytheism", the belief in many gods. This false understanding of the Trinity is found in religions such as Mormonism. This false understanding of the Trinity, among other reasons, is why Mormons are not Christians.

Trinitarian doctrine also teaches that the 3 distinct Persons of the Trinity will never be confused with each other, or mingle with each other in their divine Persons. They are forever distinct from each other as Persons, even though they share the same nature and attributes as the One God from all eternity.

And if this be true then Trinitarian doctrine is the highest form of Monotheism (belief in One God) possible, and to reject the distinct Persons of the Trinity in the name of "Monotheism" is an attack on Monotheism itself.

Furthermore, can an argument be made to show the stamp of distinct Persons in the One God is reflected and found in creation itself? And did Christ come into this world not only to save man, but to tell us who the distinct Persons in God are, Him being one of them?

Even still, there are many who fail to understand what this doctrine is actually saying. They incorrectly assert that the Son MUST be the same Person as the Father because He is the same God, or that the Holy Spirit MUST be the same Person as the Father and the Son because He too is the same God. That is NOT what the doctrine teaches.

Nor is Trinitarian doctrine a statement of three different modes of presence of the ONE GOD. The notion that the Trinity is three different modes of presence rather than three distinct persons was condemned by the Catholic Church which it labeled as the heresy of "Modalism".

This trial revolves around whether or not Scripture can prove there are THREE DISTINCT PERSONS IN ONE GOD, and if so, is there evidence in Scripture that shows they worked together to save sinful men that we may come Home to the Father.

Justification by Faith Alone vs. Good Works & The Sacraments

Is Justification by "Faith Alone" a Biblical principle as Protestants claim? If not, from where did this claim originate?

Is "salvation" an unmerited gift by which God "predestined" His elect as Protestants' claim? Or, is salvation an unmerited gift which man must cooperate with so that salvation is understood as a "collaborative effort" between God and man as Catholics claim? And if it is a collaborative effort, is the Catholic Church necessary for salvation, and what obligations do we have to the "Sacraments" of the Church?

What are "Predestination" and "Predetermination"? Is there a difference between the two that Protestants fail to see? And if so, does the Protestant concept of salvation turn God into a tyrant?

Is "justification" a "one-time-event", or can man "lose his justification by sinning" and therefore lose his salvation?

Protestants' maintain an exchange takes place when we are saved, that our sins are imputed to Jesus Christ on Calvary and His righteousness is imputed to us when we have faith in Him. But, does this take place with or without the free will of man, and what difference does it make?

Protestants' also insist the Sacraments are nothing more than a series of "good works" which cannot justify anyone, and that they are the inventions and doctrine of men that the Apostle Paul warned us about. But, what if "works" can justify men just as much as "faith" does? Would that make both "faith" and "works" necessary for justification and therefore salvation?

And do Protestants' try to find wiggle room around the Apostle James who forcefully refutes Protestantism leaving them dead in their tracks by telling us that "Faith without WORKS is DEAD?

Questions like these, and many more, must be resolved, and this book does it! One can imagine this trial will be intense at times, but it's hard hitting without being complicated. And for anyone who wants to understand their faith in these days, it's necessary to understand the dramatic differences and eternal consequences between Catholicism and the world of Protestantism.

If "justification by "Faith Alone" does not survive this trial, Protestants will have to face many things they did not want to face. And if they are unwilling to do so, they will face what the Catholic Church said at the Council of Trent when it said:

"If anyone says that the sacraments of the New Law are not necessary for salvation but are superfluous, and that without them, or without the desire of them, men obtain from God through "Faith Alone" the grace of justification, though all are not necessary for each one, let him be anathema." (Cf. Session. 6, Ch. 7, canon 9)

Mormonism vs. Catholicism

Mormons claim they worship God the Father and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ. They claim to believe in the miraculous conception of Jesus in the Virgin Mary. And they also claim to believe in the miracles of Jesus, and in His death and resurrection.

One might assume that Mormon's are Christians because these are the same things that Christians believe. And no one can dispute the fact that Mormon's use Christian terms and concepts in their professed doctrine. But, questions need to be asked. Are Mormons Christian? And if they are not, why would they do everything in their power to appear as Christians? What if Mormons are actually members of a cult in the worst sense of the word? Do they use Christian terms and concepts to entrap the unsuspecting?

If Mormons are not Christian then Mormonism is indeed a cult with nefarious purposes acknowledged by the Mormon Apostle, Orson Pratt. He said if Mormonism is a false religion then it is the most:

"Cunning, wicked, bold, and deep-laid impositions ever palmed upon the world; calculated to deceive and ruin millions who will sincerely receive it as the word of God, and will suppose themselves securely built upon the rock of truth, until they are plunged, together with their families, into hopeless despair." (Mormon Apostle, Orson Pratt)

The Crusades and the Catholic Church

Those who wish to bash the Catholic Church do not hesitate to bring up the "Crusades" and the "Inquisition" as evidence of tainted Church history. It's the common non-catholic apologetic against the Church, and it comes with the admonition: "History proves that organized religion is bound to pillage and plunder the innocent."

Do these people have the facts on their side? Or, do they merely parrot bigotted misinformation they were taught from the time of their youth? Does it go deeper than that? Perhaps they wish to believe the accusations against the Church, be they true or false, in order to justify a sinful life that is in rebellion against Church doctrine!

Did those who lived during the times of the Crusades and shortly thereafter regard the Crusades as necessary and something of virtue? Has the average man on the street with an axe to grind against the Church embraced myths of revisionism without realizing it? Muslims had more respect for Christians during the times of the Crusades than do revisionists in our day. They regarded Christian soliders as worthy adversaries who fought with piety.

So then, where does the revisionist view of Church history come from?

What if it came from none other than Martin Luther? He'd already waged his war against Church indulgences, doctrine and Papal Supremacy. He was the first within Christianity who argued in a forcible way that to fight in the Crusades as a Christian would be the same as fighting Christ Himself. He believed that Christ had sent the Turks to punish the Church for its infidelity to God, but his claim lasted only until Austria was invaded and his own territory had become endangered. He decided it would be "permissable" to fight in the Crusades, but he had to maintain the Crusades were evil in order to save face. For the next two centuries people viewed the crusades through the bigotry of Martin Luther, and Protestants in our day have picked up his banner against the Church.

We also have men like Voltaire who felt that medieval Christianity was nothing more than vile superstition. For him, and others like him, the Crusades represented a time of mindless barbarians who allowed themselves to be driven by the fanaticism of religious belief that was fueled by greed and lust.

So then, what are the facts behind the real story of the Crusades? Were they unprovoked wars of aggression against a muslim world that was at peace in its own lands?

Is it true that Crusaders wore "Crosses" on their clothing to cover the shame of what they did? Was their piety false? Or, were the soliders of the Crusades like a solider in our own day, proud of his country and duty, but longing to return home to peace?

This trial will ferrot out the revisionists of Church history.

Is the common man's understanding of the "Inquisition" rooted in fact or myth?

Were masses of innocent Bible-believers tortured and killed as heretics? Are such accusations against the Church made by those who parrot none other than Edgar Allen Poe, a man who fostered false imaginations that are easily conjured up in the minds of people looking for a reason to rebel against the Church?

Is it a common mistake to regard the "Spanish Inquisition" as representative of the "Inquisition"?

Was the medieval Inquisition of the 13th and 14th centuries brought to Spain, and if so, was it widely used? Or, did the Spanish Inquisition develop during the 15th century, focusing "not on heretics" but on Jews who secretly practicing their old faith after converting to Christianity? What resulted when Jews became ostensible Christians? Had they done so to acquire privileges and positions not open to them unless they converted, and did this result in ethnic anti-Semitism?

Have contemporary historians become revisionists of the Spanish Inquisition, painting a picture of "religious persecution " rather than "anti-semitism"?

Amd how often do those who revile the Church admit that Pope Sixtus IV protested against the activities and the manner of treatment towards converts that was taking place at the inquisition in Aragon?

What role did the request of for a Papal Bull by Ferdinand and Isabella play in the inquisition? Was the Inquisition expanded to protect Spain from the rise of Protestantism, and as a means to secure Royal authority in Charles V who succeeded Ferdinand and Isabella? What role did the Dominican Friar Tomas de Torquemada assume as the Inquisition was expanded? And what was the result of his influence?

What allowed the inquisition to stubbornly persist beyond its original objective in spite of continuing Papal complaints about the treatment of converts? Was the "union of the Inquisition with the State" the source of post-Reformation hatred towards the Church, and was this seized upon by Martin Luther?

And what about those who claim the Spanish Inquisition resulted in hundreds of thousands of Protestants being burned as perpetrators of falsehoods? Will such claims be exposed as having no basis in historical fact? After all, when one considers that not a single heresy came forth from Spain, it is hard to imagine how anyone can assert the "Spanish Inquisition" can be representative of what transpired in England, France, and Germany. Protestants numbered so few in Spain it would be impossible for such claims against the Church to have taken place.

A search for Protestantism did take place during the reformation period, but how many people know that less than 50 cases of Lutheranism among Spaniards came to the attention of the Spanish Inquisitors before 1858?

This trial will expose whether or not a false image of "Catholic Spain" has been created that has become the symbol of "religious and intellectual oppression" on the part of the Catholic Church.

Are Catholics allowed to be Freemasons? No!

Masonic organizations are irreconcilably opposed to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Every Catholic is prohibited from joining any Masonic Order, including the Order of the Eastern Star which is a Masonic association for women, the Order of DeMolay which is for boys, Job's Daughters, and the Rainbow Girls which is for young women.

Has membership in Masonic organizations been forbidden by Popes? Yes!

Beginning with Pope Clement XII - 1738, Benedict XIV - 1751, Pius VII - 1821, Leo XII - 1825, Pius VIII - 1829, Gregory XVI - 1832, Pius IX - 1846, 1849, 1864, 1865, 1869, and 1873, and Leo XIII - 1882, 1884, 1890, 1894, and 1902, membership in Masonic organizations has been prohibited.

There are many people who think the ban prohibiting membership in Masonic Orders has been lifted. That is not true. In 1917, Canon Law excommunicated any Catholic who became a Mason, and Canon Law remains in effect unless it is explicitly changed in more recent promulgations. The 1983 Code of Canon Law did not explicitly remove the penalty of excommunication.

The Congregation of the Clergy addressed the confusion over this matter, and it did so with the approval of Pope John Paul II when it said:

"... the Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic associations remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church, and therefore membership with them remains forbidden. The faithful who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion.

Freemasons do not join a harmless social club as many believe. It is a religion. They have their own "doctrinal beliefs", and they believe that all truth can be attained by human reason alone, without the need of revelation. This is contrary to the nature of revelation and Church teaching which states that revelation is necessary for salvation as seen in the Catholic Catechism (50-100).

They claim to believe in the Fatherhood of God, the brotherhood of all mankind, and even the immortality of the soul, so what makes Freemasonry so dangerous and insidious? Masons are religious relativists of the highest order! And to elevate their own standing in the world they will treat other religions as if they are equal to Freemasonry when it suits them. And they will go beyond that! They will actually join other religions, but they do so to infiltrate and subvert them, as long as they do not abandon Masonic beliefs. And, Masonic organizations require their members to keep hidden their beliefs concerning Christ, Scripture, and the authority of the Catholic Church. They are like Chameleons who will change their color to blend into the background of any religious organization they join. A Mason can become a Chameleon Catholic, Presbyterian, Hindu, Buddhist, etc., for the purposes of injecting Masonic doctrine into whatever religion they join.

From this, an interesting question arises. Have the Masons realized they cannot obliterate the Catholic Church? Have they decided instead to eradicate the influence of Catholicism by infiltrating the Church to use it as a tool for "renewal", "progress", and "enlightenment", according to Masonic principles by corrupting the minds of Catholics?

When all is said and done, Freemasons' believe they have primacy over all other religions when there is a conflict over doctrine or religious practice, but the ultimate target of Freemasonry is the Catholic Church. They gather all religions they have influenced to exert pressure on the Catholic Church to abandon its doctrines. And they come together like a gathering storm to meet those who have infiltrated the Church itself to change it from within, and as one, they attempt to crush Papal Supremacy once and for all.

Make no mistake about it. Freemasonry is NOT a Christian religion. Freemasonry has its heel set against the Church, but in the end, the Church will have its heel on the serpent.

This trial will explore the cunning and audacious Masonic blueprint that is in place to subvert the Catholic Church.

Atheism vs. the Catholic Church

An atheist cannot prove that God does not exist, so that puts him in the camp of the agnostic. He simply doesn't know one way or the other. So then, what makes an atheist think what they have to say about life and God is of interest to anyone at all? The only thing that distinguishes them from others is not superior intellect, but a certain coldness of heart that shuts out facts about God. In reality, atheists' are deserving of our pity and prayers, not contempt.
Psychology has amply demonstrated that atheism is most often rooted in a bad "Parent/Child" relationship, usually between father and son. It becomes difficult to think of a loving God when a parent is supposed to live as a sign of that loving God, and there is emotional confusion in the heart of many atheists because of this problem. There is a wanting to connect with God but also an unwillingness for fear they may be rejected by Him.

At times, there is something more nefarious behind atheism, something that lurks around or within atheists, inspiring them in such a way that they want others to be blinded as they are. And it ends up as a classic example of, "The blind leading the blind" because in their "Misery they want company".

And who among us has not heard the atheists' mantra: "Religion is the cause of wars". Is that so? Let them consider that in the last century alone, over 170 million people died at the hands of atheists like Lenin, Stalin, and other such men. More people died in Cambodia during the rule of Pol Pot, the atheist, in just a few short years than Christians who harmed each other in over 2,000 years.

And what is the message of hope that atheists bring to the world? Just do good to others, peace on earth to those of good will without God in the picture because nothing matters in the end, anyway? Are we to settle for the idea that we should be happy because our lives served something bigger than ourselves, perhaps some evolutionary process? Are not atheists the same people who rebel against the fact of God because he is bigger than them, and their agenda?
Of what good is atheism if our lives are meaningless and we are destined to die and be forgotten?
What gives an atheist the right to complain about religion? After all, they want to impact others with their views of life, do they not? "IF" in their need to tell us there is no God, why should anyone give a single whit about what they think or have to say? After all, according to them, there is no ultimate accountability for anything in the end anyway, so who cares what they have to say or think?

And who does not understand that atheists' are most often great lovers of their sin? The proud spirit cannot endure to be mocked, and atheists become irritated when a mirror is held up in front of them showing them what they are "not". They embrace atheism like a "drug of choice" hoping to escape the emptiness in their heart. They hope to escape the consequences of their sin as they drift off into the land of delusion thinking there is no accountability for this life. And in the end, Atheism becomes the opiate of the irrational.

And when they are done with their argument that a loving God cannot exist simply because evil and suffering exists in the world, let these giants in their own minds turn round and tell us what they see when they are done shaking their mighty fists towards the heavens. Let them tell us what they see when they turn their eyes back towards earth. Have they done the world any favors? Has the suffering they complained about in life disappeared? No! Is God still there for them to blame? Not in their minds, they've done away with God.

So then, who do they have a beef with now? After all, they rejected God because there is suffering in the world and a loving God would not permit that. Let them wake up from their stupor and see that all the suffering, sickness, and death in the world they complained about still exists and has been assigned to them by their material god because there is no one else to blame. The face of their god indeed has suffering upon it, but it's the face of dumb anguish that does not offer any hope for anything whatsoever. It is the face of a cruel god who mocks them and tortures them in their hearts and minds during the time he allotted for them to exist. Caught between their "joy of rebellion" and "confusion and love of sin", they are like masochists who are small minded people that enjoy watching others suffer as they try to instill doubts and fear into the souls of others.

Yet, they mock the suffering on a Cross that turned suffering and what seems like dumb anguish in our own crosses into something co-redemptive that St. Paul spoke about as we suffer with and in Christ. Atheists' are the people who slap the face of the Holy One. They strike His head with a reed, they pluck his beard, and put a crown of thorns on His head, and they are deaf to the cry of forgiveness. And they think they have a message of hope for the world? Let atheists be mindful that their god is coming like a killer asteroid on its way to meet them in destiny. And when their god greets them as the grim reaper, he will render one final judgment against all they think and do by obliterating them with a death blow, stomping them into the grave.

The fool in his heart says there is no God. Let atheists stop complaining about evil, suffering, and death in the world. Their task to make this a better world falls infinitely short of man's needs and desire to live with God for all eternity. Let them face the fact they will indeed meet the face of Christ at judgment.
For the one who believes in the God of Revelation, the facts about God that can be known with the light of reason become a stepping stone to belief in what He has revealed.

This trial will reveal the path of atheism which leads to damnation, and it will examine whether the "world" crowns its own by heralding and ushering in atheistic thought in order to blaze a path of rebellion for sinners. Atheists would turn the Salvific Greeting of "Peace on earth to men of good will" into "Chaos in the world for those of ill-will".

The Reformers vs. the Catholic Church

The Fathers "of the Reformation were not "unified" in their rejection of the Catholic Church. "The Reformers" exerted theological pressure and personal recriminations, one towards the other, and against the followers of each, in ways that would shock most of the Protestant world in our day.

How many people know that "some Fathers" of the Reformation put to death those who proclaimed what "other Fathers" of the Reformation taught and believed? Zwingly, Calvin, Luther, and other major reformers would have put each other to death for their beliefs had the circumstances and timing been right. Is that a bold statement? It's too bad those hanging at the end of a rope were not here to answer that question, for that is in fact what the Reformers did to each other.

As an example of the division that existed among them we can read the "History of the Life, Works, and Doctrines of John Calvin" by J. M. V. Audin, translated by Rev. John McGill (Louisville: B. J. Webb & Brother, 1850) which is as follows:

"On Jan. 12, 1538, Calvin wrote in a confidential letter to his friend, Bucer:

"If Luther can, in the same embrace, bind us and our confusion, my heart will be overwhelmed with joy; but there is no one but himself in the church of God...What are we to think of Luther? In truth, I know not: I believe that he is a pious man; I would wish only that they are mistaken in representing him as they do (and the testimony is that of his friends,) as foolishly obstinate; and his conduct is well calculated to accredit these suspicions. They inform me that he boasts of having compelled all the churches of Wittenberg to recognize his lying doctrine; strange vanity! If he be tormented by so great a desire of glory, all serious hope of peace in the truth of the Lord must be renounced; with him there are not only pride and wickedness, but ignorance and hallucination the most gross. How absurd was he at first with his bread, which is the true body!" ...

"If now he believes that the body of Christ is enveloped in the material substance, it is a monstrous error. Ah! If they wish to inculcate such absurd doctrines to our Swiss, what a beautiful path to concord do they prepare! If, therefore, thou hast over Martin any influence, labor to chain to Christ, rather than to the doctor, all those souls with whom he has so unfortunately contended: let Martin at length give a hand to the truth which he has manifestly betrayed. As to myself, I can well render testimony, that, from the day on which I first tasted the word of truth, I have not been abandoned by God, to the point of not comprehending the nature of the sacraments and the sense of the Eucharistic institution." ...

"If King Francis I embraces the symbol of Calvin, Luther threatens the King with reprobation. If the King listens to Luther, Calvin damns him irremediably, for allowing himself to be seduced by “the detestable error of the Real Presence.” Apostles of the Lord agree then among yourselves. You both tell me, take and read, here is the book of life, the bread of truth, the manna of the desert. I listen to you, and your word throws my soul into an abyss of doubts" ...

"Who then will cause to shine “that first star of day,” as Calvin calls his gospel?

    "I will” says Osiander, “but accept my essential justice."

    "I will,” says Calvin, “but reject the justice of the heretic Osiander,and accept my gratuitous justice."
    "I will,” says Melanchthon, “but remain in the papacy, for the church must have a visible head."
    "I will,” says Calvin, “but reject the pope, the prince of darkness, the anti-Christ of flesh and bone."
    "I will,” says Luther, “but believe that with your lips you receive the body and blood of Christ."
    "I will,” says Calvin, “but believe that your mouth only touches the symbols of the flesh and blood, and that faith alone has the power to transform them into reality."

Where then did the first star of day stop in its course?

    "At Zurich,” says Zwingli.
    "“At Bale," says Oecolampadius.
    "At Strasbourg," says Bucer.
    "At Wittenberg," says Luther.
    "At Neuchatel," says Farel.

But in what Bible shall I read the word of God?

    "In Luther’s Bible," says Hans Lufft, his printer.
    "In the Geneva Bible," say Calvin and Beza.
    "In the Bible of Zurich," exclaims Leo Judae.
    "In the Bible of Bale," answers Oecolampadius.
    "In truth," says Beza, "the translation of Bale is pitiful, and in many passages offensive to the Holy Spirit."
    "“Cursed be the Geneva translation," says the colloquy of Hamptoncourt, "it is the worst that exists."
    "Be on your guard," says Calvin, "against the Bible of Zwingli, it is poison; for Zwingli has written “that Paul did not recognize his epistles as holy, infallible scripture, and that immediately after they had been written, they had no authority among the Apostles."

These are but a few examples of the division that existed in the Protestant world from its very beginnings. This trial will reveal why division in Christianity exists and has been compounded since that time from the very words of the Fathers of the Reformation.

73 Reasons to reject Sola Scriptura - The Easy Button Bible. This book contains a section for each of the 73 Books found in the Catholic Bible, but the Scripture itself will be missing. In its place will be 73 arguments against the concept of Sola Scriptura (the Bible Alone) which is the Protestant belief that the Bible is the "sole rule of authority" with only 66 Books in the Bble.

There is no "Easy Button" on the Bible that activates the voice of the Holy Spirit so we can understand Scripture free of division.
